Ice-skating outdoors in San Francisco? Absolutely! The always-popular Holiday Ice Rink at Embarcadero Center, opens Nov. 4 - Jan. 3, 2016. Located with views of the picturesque San Francisco Bay, the historic Ferry Building and the newly redesigned Bay Bridge, the ice rink in Justin Herman Plaza delights skaters of all ages.
You can spend a whole day at the Embarcadero Center's 4 buildings, which consist of office towers with retail and dining options on the first few floors. Get your holiday shopping done at stores like the Gap, Ambassador Toys, Jest Jewels, Papyrus and Godiva Chocolates. Choose from a variety of places to eat, from restaurants to quick service eateries and cafes. Popular destinations include Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Café, Fuzio Universal Bistro and Gaylord Indian Restaurant. Parking is available in the Embarcadero onsite garages, and it's also easily accessed by Muni and BART public transit.
General admission for the Embarcadero Ice Rink is $11. Children 7 and younger are admitted onto the ice for $6. Sessions are 90 minutes long. Skate rentals if you need them are $5. Enjoy free holiday parking, Nov. 20-Dec. 24! The Holiday Ice Rink is open 10 am - 9:30 pm, Sunday-Thursday, and 10 am - 11:30 pm, Friday-Saturday. On New Year's Eve, which falls on a Thursday this year, the rink will stay open until 11:30 pm! You can inquire about birthday party packages for $300, which include a party area, birthday cake and soft drinks for up to 10 guests. Group rates are also available, Monday - Thursday.
